Public Street chalk

  1. I started drawing on the pavement outside my studio because it was a lovely day and sitting inside did not seem particularly appealing. People walked by and cheered me on so in the course of a couple of days I think I did something like 20 large drawings on the streets of Oslo. The reactions were very positive. Noone complained, but a lot of people smiled and started talking about all sorts of things. It was great to experience this interaction with an audience so that led me to do more. It was and is pure fun and enjoyment doing this. I have since done them in cities from Paris to Santiago or Rome to L.A. Even in the remote Andean mountains.
